Stage 1 - PPL (H)

The first step to become a helicopter pilot is the Private Pilot License, PPL (H).

With a PPL (H) you can rent helicopters to fly friends and family and you can land at almost any airport in most countries. The Private Pilot License is conducted under the Visual Flight Rules which means that you fly using visual references.

The PPL takes around 4 months for a full time student which includes ground school Monday to Friday 8-12 and flying lessons Monday to Friday in the afternoons. The ground school is 9 weeks in duration plus 2 weeks self study time for the School and CAA exams.

If you want to take a PPL but cannot attend full time we offer other possibilities for the ground school and flying lessons.

After your PPL skill test with an examiner from the Swedish CAA you can rent helicopters from the school on weekends and evenings.

If you are interested in a PPL, the school offers 45 min trial flights with a professional flight instructor where you receive the basic briefing on how to fly and also the opportunity to try flying the helicopter yourself!
