Stage 3 - ME/IR/CPL

Block 1 - Multi Engine Rating

After the ATPL you will move onto twin engine flying with the Multi Engine Class Rating (ME). This course will take you through the general aircraft handling of twin engined aircraft.

The course consists of a minimum of 7 hours (including skill test) and focuses mainly on the asymmetric effects of engine failures.

All flying will be performed on our Diamond DA42, a state of the art aircraft equipped with Garmin 1000 technology.
Block 2 - Instrument Rating

Once you have completed the Multi Engine Rating, you will move into the simulator to begin your Instrument training.

The Instrument Rating is divided into 2 sections:

  • 40 hours FNPT II simulator training
  • 19 hours aircraft training

During the 40 hours simulator training you will learn all the procedures associated with instrument training such as:

  • NDB approaches and holdings
  • VOR approaches and holdings
  • Arrivals and Departures
  • ILS approaches
    as well as much more.

After learning these procedures it will be time to move into the aircraft and practice them for real! This part of the training will be conducted over 19 hours (including skill test) on our Diamond DA42 equipped with Garmin 1000, stormscope and advanced ice protection systems.
Block 3 - Commercial License

The Commercial Pilot License will train you to become highly proficient in aircraft handling skills during visual conditions focusing around:

  • Long Navigation Sectors
  • Advanced flying techniques
  • Low level navigation
  • Short and grass field flying

The course is conducted on a combination of our Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft and consists of a total of 16 hours of training (including skill test).
